14U State Championship

The 14U Griffin Warriors took on Jefferson in the Ohio State Junior League Championship today. After the first 2 scoreless innings, the offense began heating up for Jefferson plating 6 runs. In the bottom of the 4th, The Lebanon Warriors trailed 6-1 when they sent 12 batters to the plate. After scoring on multiple walks, and a hit batsmen, the floodgates opened and Lebanon commanded a 9-6 lead through 4. Jefferson stormed back with 6 runs and after 5 innings of play, the Warriors trailing 12-9. In the top of the 6th The Warriors with their backs against the wall blanked Jefferson behind solid pitching. The Warriors had the bases loaded in the Bottom of the 6th with no outs and were able to tie it up. In the top of the 7th The Warriors made quick work of the first 2 Jefferson batters when a 2 out triple was launched off the left field fence. The base runner scored on that same play from an overthrow at 3rd giving Jefferson a 13-12 lead.

Unfortunately The Warriors were unable to launch a third comeback and eventually fell 14-12. Please join us in congratulating the 14U Warriors on a job well done securing the District 9 Championship and being the Ohio State Champion Runners Up. LYB is extremely proud of the effort that these coaches and players put in all season and can't wait to see what next season has in store!
